An exciting new addition to Melbourne's retail scene, Noa Noa Miniature shares the same owners as beloved lifestyle store AIDA on Greville Street, Prahran. The store relocated to Little Chapel Street, Prahran in 2016, and the owners took advantage of their larger space to open a new sister store dedicated to the children's clothing brand Noa Noa Miniature.
"A lot of our customers who originally came to us for homewares have since returned with children of their own, or their friends have had children," says AIDA owner, Anthony Ryan. "There aren't a lot of dedicated children's clothing stores inMelbourne, so we saw a gap in the market."
The response has been overwhelming, with customers embracing the brand's Danishdesigned clothes, which are renowned for their bold prints and relaxed silhouettes. The store'sinterior was designed by Anthony with no fixed brief, with the look and feel of the space evolving as they received stock."We really just wanted an environment that was bright, spacious and full of colour," says Anthony, who achieved this through the use of bright white walls, polished concrete floors and shelves lined with colourful products.
"The key to designing a store is to make it easy for the customer to shop," says Anthony. To this end, the store's products are organised by size, and the shelves are within easy reach of both adults and children. Features and decorative objects throughout the store such as a vintage Danish bicycle, lifesized wooden teddy bears, Danish design books and bright, floral wallpaper reinforce the brand's playful aesthetic.

The world's largest casual wear retailer, UNIQLO, has announced that its next Australian flagship store will open in Melbourne's CBD later this year. The store will be located at 370376 Bourke Street, one of the city's busiest retail destinations, and will span over three levels.
UNIQLO's Australian CEO, Shoichiro Yasutomi, says that Melbourne was an obvious choice for the company's next flagship store. "Melbourne is a vibrant, fashionfocused city with a diverse population," says Yasutomi."This makes it the perfect location for UNIQLO to establish its presence in the state of Victoria and continue to grow our Australian business."
The new store will offer the full range of UNIQLO's LifeWear products for men, women, kids and babies, including its popular HEATTECH and AIRism ranges. It will also feature the latest instore technology, such as selfcheckout kiosks and a digital signage system.
UNIQLO currently operates 14 stores in Australia, with another four planned to open this year. The new Melbourne flagship store will be the company's largest store in Australia, and will create around 100 new jobs.
"We are looking forward opening our new flagship store in Melbourne later this year," says Yasutomi. "We are confident that it will be a great addition to the city's retail scene, and that our customers will enjoy shopping in our spacious, modern store."
